Kimberly Reisch Vander Poel

I’m the Social Media Specialist and founder of Fresh Impact. I live in the Midwest with my husband and our four furry friends. We enjoy our cozy empty nest; however, we always look forward to seeing our children and grandchildren. 

I grew up in a small Minnesota community where I was the oldest of 7 children. One of the greatest gifts my parents passed down was the mentality of “work hard at all you do!” This mentality had me working my first job at 8, and continues to motivate me in the work of Fresh Impact. My promise is to do this for each of my clients in every opportunity I get, and I am certain that promise is what has led to the sustained growth of the company.

If I’m not at my computer crafting ideas for my clients, you can find me hiking, biking, gardening, reading a book, or enjoying coffee with friends.

Why did I choose to start a social media management company?

The short answer: I didn’t. It chose me.












I started a blog in 2008 when I was first undergoing cancer treatments. At this time, I was given a 30% chance of survival and told to quit treatments. 

I said no. I had too much to live for and wanted to fight for the chance to live my life.

Two years later, I completed cancer treatments. The experience of fighting so hard for the right to live left me with a heightened desire to find passion and value in all aspects of my life, including my work. 

In late summer of 2014, I took a Social Media Management Course through iBloom. By the end of the very first session, I knew I had discovered a deep passion. Too many of the knowledge and skills required for the role perfectly align with my strengths and passions to ignore, as you’ll see below, and so after I completed the course I started working with clients. Watching business clients’ social media presence go from “now” to “wow” continues to confirm my passion and longing to grow my business.

And while that first class got me started, my love of learning and desire to provide a quality service has led to bringing on a number of consultants with specialized skills and to personally taking advanced courses to hone my craft.
